Learning Centers
This is just one way to guide students to different literacy centers. Choose whatever works for you — the important thing is to create activities that allow children
to work independently so that you can work with a small group on guided reading. Change your learning centers from time to time - they should not be permanent. For
ideas on guided reading and literacy centers, including assessment, grouping and lots of examples, see
Opitz and Ford, 2001 and
Diller, 2003.
